The White House’s Office of Management and Budget (OMB) unveiled the FY 2019 President’s Management Agenda (PMA) – the guiding principles that will govern the administration’s approach to managing (and modernizing) the federal workforce (FEDmanager.com).
The agenda “lays out a long-term vision for modernizing the Federal Government in key areas that will improve the ability of agencies to deliver mission outcomes, provide excellent service, and effectively steward taxpayer dollars on behalf of the American people.”
The agenda comes as a response to declining trust in the government and their inability to efficiently and effectively perform across all departments. This is largely due to out-of-date procedures and regulations, poor communication, and overall inefficiencies in working internally and with contractors. The PMA focuses on modernizing the government and directly addressing past shortcomings to simplify the way they do business.
